King receives head of Republic of Adygeya in Russian Federation

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, met with Head of the Republic of Adygeya in the Russian Federation Murat Kumpilov, at Al Husseiniya Palace on Sunday.

The King asked the head of the Republic of Adygeya to convey his greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasising the deep ties between Jordan and Russia, and keenness to bolster them in various fields, according to a Royal Court statement. 

The meeting, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Ali and Prince Hashim and His Majesty’s chief royal councillor, covered opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, especially the economy, investment, tourism and education, the statement said.

His Majesty reaffirmed the important role of the Circassian community in Jordan that has contributed to the country’s progress and development throughout its history.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty for Communication and Coordination Bisher Al Khasawneh, Adviser to His Majesty for Policies and Media Kamal Al Nasser, Russian Ambassador to Jordan Gleb Desyatnikov and the delegation accompanying the head of the Republic of Adygeya attended the meeting.

Later in the day, Kumpilov left the Kingdom after concluding the two-day visit.
