Amman — His Majesty King Abdullah met with United States Senators Angus King and James Lankford on Tuesday, where His Majesty called for reaching comprehensive calm in the region, highlighting the United States’ pivotal role in this regard.

The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein at Al Husseiniya Palace, covered the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, as well as ways to enhance cooperation across various fields in service of mutual interests, a Royal Court statement said.

Discussions also addressed the developments in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the situation in Syria.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.
