King marks Laylat Al Qadr with worshippers at King Hussein Mosque

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah joined worshippers on Thursday night at the King Hussein Mosque in performing taraweeh prayers and prayers marking Laylat Al Qadr, which Muslims celebrate on the eve of Ramadan 27 to mark the anniversary of the revelation of the Koran.

Also Thursday, the King attended a ceremony held by the Awqaf Ministry to celebrate the winners of the 22nd International Hashemite Contest for Memorising the Holy Koran.

His Majesty honoured the winners of the contest, which featured 100 participants from Jordan and 33 international contestants.

HRH Prince Feisal and several senior officials also attended the ceremony and performed prayers at the King Hussein Mosque.
