King leaves for three-country tour

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah left on Tuesday for a working visit to Jakarta to participate in the Afro-Asia Summit, which will convene on Wednesday.

The Afro-Asia Summit, which is held once every 10 years, assists Asian and African nations to build stronger partnerships and share experiences to enhance economic development.

The King will deliver an address at the summit and will meet on the sidelines with several leaders and presidents of participating countries, a Royal Court statement said.

In San Francisco, the second leg of the King’s tour, His Majesty will meet with businessmen and representatives of several economic entities.

He will also pay an official visit to Ottawa, Canada, where he will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and several other officials.

HRH Prince Feisal was sworn in as Regent.
