AMMAN — Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Baku, where the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across several sectors.
Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to President Aliyev and expressed the King's wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Azerbaijan and its people, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
President Aliyev returned the greetings to King Abdullah, reaffirming Azerbaijan's commitment to further strengthening ties with Jordan.
Safadi also delivered an invitation from King Abdullah for President Aliyev to visit Jordan, while President Aliyev extended a reciprocal invitation to the King to visit Azerbaijan.
The meeting also went over ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, energy, investment and tourism sectors through continued high-level engagement and closer coordination.
Both sides stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of the Joint Jordanian-Azerbaijani Committee for Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation, held in Baku on November 26, 2025, as well as expanding parliamentary cooperation and collaboration in the tourism sector.
