King departs for Vatican, UK

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday departed on a visit to Vatican City and the United Kingdom.

In the Vatican, King Abdullah is scheduled to meet with Pope Francis and Holy See Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin on Thursday, according to a Royal Court statement.

In London, His Majesty will meet with King Charles III of the United Kingdom on Thursday, and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Friday.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein was sworn in as Regent, in the presence of Cabinet members.
