King congratulates Merkel on reelection

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday sent a greeting cable to German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulating her on her reelection for a fourth term, after her party won the parliamentary elections on Sunday, according to a Royal Court statement.

In the cable, His Majesty stressed Jordan's eagerness to strengthen relations and strategic partnership with Germany in various fields, and to work together to achieve world peace. His Majesty wished the German chancellor success and the people of Germany progress and prosperity.
