King condoles UAE president over Emiratis’ death in Afghanistan

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday sent a cable of condolences to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, over the death of a number of Emiratis in a blast in Afghanistan.
The UAE citizens were tasked with implementing humanitarian, educational and development projects in Afghanistan, and were killed in Kandahar.
The King condemned the “heinous terror act” that took place, affirming Jordan’s support for the UAE and its people, a Royal Court statement said. His Majesty also expressed his deepest sympathies to the leadership of the UAE and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
