AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday expressed his condolences and sympathies over the victims killed in the bombing which targeted a police compound’s mosque in Abha in the southern Asir region, a Royal Court statement said.

During a telephone call with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Abdullah strongly denounced the cowardly crime, stressing Jordan’s support for Saudi Arabia in confronting such crimes and in safeguarding Saudi Arabia’s security and stability.

Thursday’s suicide bombing killed 15 people at the mosque and another 33 persons were hurt in the attack.

Meanwhile, the Royal Court announced that His Majesty on Friday left Jordan on a several-day private visit.

HRH Prince Raad, Chief Chamberlain, was sworn in as Regent before Cabinet members, according to the statement.
