King condoles Putin over envoy’s assassination

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday sent a cable of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the assassination of Moscow’s ambassador to Turkey on Monday, a Royal Court statement said.

The King expressed Jordan’s “deepest sympathies” to Putin and the Russian people, stressing his condemnation of the “heinous act”. His Majesty also expressed Jordan’s support for all efforts to counter terrorism and extremism.
