Khirfan urges halt to construction, renovation works in camps

AMMAN — Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) Rafiq Khirfan on Thursday urged ceasing any construction or renovation work carried out by owners of housing units in camps, until all necessary safety procedures and licences are verified. 

Khirfan instructed DPA directors responsible for the 13 camps in the Kingdom to examine all unrehabilitated housing units, as part of a project to rehabilitate the houses of underprivileged residents as well as prepare a detailed list of housing units in need of maintenance, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
