KHCC, ESTRO sign agreement on radiation oncology training, research

AMMAN — The King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement with the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) in the field of education, training and research in radiation oncology.

The agreement aims to enhance Jordanian medical competencies in oncology by integrating the optimal treatment technologies for cancer patients, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, KHCC Director General Assem Mansour said that the agreement allows the centre's physicians to acquire new expertise in tumour treatment.

Mansour also noted that the first activity held under the agreement was an intensive educational course on treatment of head and neck tumours. Mansour lauded this scientific cooperation, which would raise the level of cancer treatment and scientific research in Jordan and the Arab region
