AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday stressed Jordan's commitment to further enhancing relations with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and expanding cooperation to serve the interests of both sides and their people.

Khasawneh received Secretary General of the GCC Nayef Al Hajraf and his accompanying delegation as participants in the Amman-hosted Gulf-Jordanian Economic Forum, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The premier stressed that regional and international challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated further cooperation and integration, mainly in food security and the medical fields.

The prime minister referred to the "distinguished relations" between Jordan and the GCC countries in politics, economics, industry, investment, agriculture, security, military affairs, border security, energy and electric connection, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also voiced the Kingdom's interest in attracting more investments from GCC countries, which are currently the top Arab investors in Jordan, stressing the government's commitment to offering the necessary provisions to attract new ventures and empower existing projects.

Khasawneh also commended the role of GCC ambassadors in Jordan in enhancing ties and broadening cooperation, referring to the significance of the forum in boosting communication between the two sides' private sectors to explore more fields of cooperation and investment.
