Kharabsheh, EU ambassador discuss renewable energy cooperation

AMMAN — Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh and EU Ambassador Maria Hadjitheodosiou on Tuesday discussed energy cooperation projects in the fields of renewable energy and energy storage.
During the meeting, Kharabsheh reviewed the challenges facing the electricity sector in the Kingdom and ways to enhance cooperation under the strategic partnership with the EU, in a bid to boost local energy resources and increase their contribution to the total energy mix, according to a ministry statement. He also praised the EU’s support to Jordan, describing the union as a main partner of the Kingdom.
Hadjitheodosiou stressed the EU’s continuous support to the Kingdom in various fields, including providing assistance to help Jordan deal with the repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis and develop local energy resources through focusing on green growth and the economy.
