Kharabsheh’s remarks came during a meeting with representatives from Jordanian companies and institutions working in the renewable energy sector in Jordan.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance the Kingdom’s opportunities in the local and regional renewable energy projects, mainly the energy storage projects, according to a ministry statement.
The minister stressed the need to maintain the Kingdom’s role in the field of renewable energy to increase renewable energy’s share in the total energy mix to 50 per cent by 2030.
Talks also went over the importance of the Jordanian-Egyptian electricity interconnection. The attendees called for setting a road map to frame public-private sector cooperation in this arena.
