Karadsheh sworn in as IEC secretary general

AMMAN — Awwad Karadsheh was sworn in before the chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) as secretary general of the Commission in compliance with the provisions of Article 9 of its law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.

According to a statement by the commission, Karadsheh holds a doctorate degree in political science, and has worked in the government as a district governor in the Interior Ministry, general coordinator in the 2016 Parliamentary elections and election director for the 2017 municipal and governorate council elections.

A Royal Decree was issued appointing Karadsheh Secretary General of IEC on November 7.
