AMMAN — The Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) on Wednesday approved a series of land lease agreements with local investment companies and citizens.
JVA Secretary General Manar Al Mahasneh, who signed the deals, said that the agreements include leasing land to serve the establishment of agricultural development projects, in accordance with the JVA agricultural lease system, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreements included leasing over 500 dunums of land to citizens in Ghor Al Safi to plant seasonal crops.
In addition, the agreement includes a seasonal fruit trees project, an agricultural development project that will employ a number of unemployed breadwinners, and leases in the central Jordan Valley / Ghor Nimrin, to establish a large agricultural investment project and a packaging factory that will provide over 150 jobs for local residents.
