‘Juveniles committed 2,500 criminal offences in 2013’

AMMAN — Juveniles committed 2,500 criminal offences in 2013, the Sisterhood Is Global Institute/Jordan’s office said Thursday, citing the annual report issued by the Criminal Information Department in Jordan.
A total of 1,128 of these were classified as crimes, representing an increase of 7.12 per cent compared to 2012, and a further 1,372 classified as misdemeanours, representing a decrease of 1.86 per cent in the same period.
The institute said white collar crimes and crimes against persons topped the list of criminal offences in 2013, with 1,615 and 305 crimes respectively.
