AMMAN — A research team at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) obtained a patent from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, titled “The Rapid Acceleration of Agricultural Seeds’ Growth Using Nanotechnology”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to a JUST press briefing, the significance of the innovation, which was developed at the university’s labs, lies in enabling farmers and agricultural institutions to provide a great amount of seedlings in a timely manner.
The said technology was tested using tomato seeds and was proven to be effective in regular agricultural conditions, Petra reported. The mechanism includes stimulating seeds by permeating their coat, according to Petra.
