JTA delegation visits Queen Rania Teacher Academy

AMMAN — The Jordan Teachers Association (JTA) and the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) on Wednesday discussed means of cooperation.

A delegation from the JTA/Amman branch paid the QRTA a visit, during which they were briefed by QRTA CEO Osama Obeidat on the academy’s training programmes, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The two sides also discussed cooperating through conducting training programmes for the teachers, in accordance with the Education Ministry’s policies and the training priorities of public school teachers.

During the visit, the two sides agreed to cooperate in various training programmes, in addition to offering scholarships within the academy’s “Education technology” and “Teach like a champion” programmes.

Obeidat highlighted the QRTA’s role in equipping teachers to excel in their classrooms, expressing the academy’s keenness on keeping abreast of the latest developments in teaching methods to provide high-quality education.

He also reviewed the QRTA programmes implemented in cooperation with the Education Ministry, including the pre-service Teacher Education Professional Diploma, the Advanced Instructional Leadership Professional Diploma and teachers training programmes. 

The delegation toured the facilities of the academy and met a number of the students who stressed the importance of QRTA services. 

Lauding the academy’s role in equipping teachers with the latest teaching methods with “tangible outcomes on the ground”, the union delegation expressed the Amman branch’s keenness on cooperating with the QRTA for the best interest of teachers, students and the education system in general.
