JPMC profits reached JD535.5m in 2021

AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) achieved record total profits of JD535.5 million for the year 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Untaxed profits for the same year amounted to JD437.5 million, while net profits amounted to JD335.6 million after taxation.

According to the JPMC, profits have doubled 12 times compared with 2020, an increase of 1,200 per cent. During 2021, the company managed to produce the highest quantities of phosphates and fertilisers since the JPMC’s establishment, as the quantities of phosphate production reached about 10 million tonnes, and its production of fertilisers reached 728,000 tonnes.

Phosphate sales amounted to 9.7 million tonnes, the company highlighted, adding that total exports of the group and allied companies for the year 2021 amounted to $2,034 billion, while its payments to the state Treasury amounted to more than JD140 million.
