AMMAN — Chairman of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) Mohammad Thneibat on Tuesday donated JD800,000 to help establish an advanced civil defence centre at the Aqaba International Industrial Estate (AIIE).
During the JPMC donation ceremony to Aqaba Governor Khaled Hajjaj, Thneibat said that supporting the establishment of the centre came out of the company's social responsibility, emphasising its importance in enhancing the system and procedures of public safety in the industrial zone to serve the companies operating there.
The centre will handle incidents in the southern industrial zone, supervise emergency plans in industrial facilities and coordinate with companies and civil defence in the event of an emergency within the industrial companies operating in the zone, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
