AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Press Foundation Ayman Majali said that the board has taken practical steps to find suitable solutions to the foundation’s challenges, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
During his meeting with the Jordan Press Association’s (JPA) council, Majali stated that there will be “active pursuit” of advertisement opportunities through increasing the scope of advertisers, with the aim of enhancing the foundation’s resources and improving distribution and printing.
These efforts aim to restore the “high profile” position of the foundation, which is the publisher of Al Rai and The Jordan Times, as a centre of training and qualification, keeping pace with developments in the field and enhancing workers’ efficiency.
Majali highlighted the importance of boosting cooperation between the foundation and JPA to tackle issues and challenges facing the JPF.
The chairman further expressed the foundation’s commitment to preserve the rights of its employees, especially as the foundation is undergoing reforms aimed at improving its performance and solve its challenges.
He indicated that, by meeting and communicating with advertisers, the Board of Directors seeks to stand up for their needs and find a suitable solution for the foundation to remain national, free, responsible and highly professional.
Majali added that the foundation is establishing a private radio station in cooperation with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh
For his part, JPA President Rakan Saaydeh commended the measures taken by the foundation’s board of directors, underscoring his association’s keenness to support the foundation in dealing with its challenges.
