AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said on Saturday that Jordan's voice will remain heard in international decision-making centres, noting His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to garner international support for Palestinian rights to counter the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip.
During a ceremony held in Zarqa to mark His Majesty's 63rd birthday, Safadi told lawmakers and local officials that Jordan will remain true and faithful to just Arab causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and stand with the Palestinian people's right to establish a free and independent state on the pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Jordan will not accept any solution to the Palestinian issue at the expense of Jordanians, and that Palestine is for the Palestinians, and Jordan for the Jordanians, he reiterated.
Safadi highlighted that His Majesty participated in aid airdrops to Gaza, while Her Majesty Queen Rania played a pivotal role in delivering impactful presentations that helped shift international opinion on the destruction and massacres committed against "our people in Palestine."
He also highlighted the participation of HRH Crown Prince Hussein and HRH Princess Salma in relief airdrops carried out by the Royal Air Force, alongside the efforts of Jordanian field hospitals.
