Jordan’s Private Hospitals Association becomes member of international federation

AMMAN — The Private Hospitals Association (PHA), in cooperation with the Accreditation Council for Health Institutions and in coordination with private, government, military and university hospitals, became a member of the International Hospital Federation (IHF).

President of the PHA Fawzi Hammouri on Wednesday said that this step enhances the Kingdom’s position in the health field internationally and demonstrates its medical achievements, which have made it “a top player in the field of medical tourism”.

Membership in the IHF allows Jordan to exchange experience with other countries, particularly on issues related to the novel coronavirus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

With its headquarters in Geneva, the IHF is an international not-for-profit, non-governmental membership organisation that “recognises the essential role of hospitals and healthcare organisations in providing healthcare, supporting health services and offering education”.

The organisation’s role is to help international hospitals work towards improving the level of the services they deliver to the population with the primary goal of improving the health of society, according to its website.
