Jordan's GDP up by 4.9% in H1 of 2022 — ACC

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s GDP increased by 4.9 per cent in the first half of 2022 compared with the same period last year, figures by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) showed on Tuesday.

The ACC data revealed that the Kingdom’s GDP at current prices stood at JD15.92 billion in the first six months of the year, compared with JD15.18 billion in the corresponding period of 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The data showed that the trade and services sector contributed to 54.7 per cent of GDP at current prices during the first half of the year, while the financial services, real estate, and business sectors accounted for 20.3 per cent of GDP, agriculture and fishing 4.1 per cent.

Meanwhile, construction constituted 3 per cent, electricity and water 1.3 per cent, and personal and social services 8.8 per cent.
