AMMAN — Today marks the first anniversary of the death of Maj. Rashed Zyoud, who was killed in an Irbid security operation against a terror cell, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
A Royal Decree was issued on March 2, 2016, promoting Zyoud to the rank of major, in appreciation of his sacrifice in fighting terrorists. Clashes between special security units and a Daesh-affiliated group in Irbid resulted in the killing of seven terrorists and the death of Zyoud, who was shot during the operation, while five of his colleagues were injured.
