Jordanian-US friendship committee meets American chargé d’affaires

AMMAN — President of the Jordanian-US Parliamentary Friendship Committee MP Khair Abul Saalik on Tuesday discussed with US Chargé d’Affaires Jim Barnhart a number of issues of mutual interest.

Abul Saalik reviewed bilateral cooperation ties and prospects for their development in all fields, mainly at the parliamentary level, as well as the economic challenges facing Jordan as a result of the surrounding crises, which caused refugee influxes that the Kingdom welcomed despite difficult economic circumstances.

The MP emphasised the need for the international community to bear its responsibility towards Jordan to enable it to continue its main role in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
