Jordanian Plastic Artists Association names new president

AMMAN — Hussein Nashwan on Saturday was elected as president of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association, Al Rai Arabic daily reported.

Nashwan, who heads Al Rai’s culture section, said the association would work on its cultural role of supporting Jordanian artists at local and international exhibitions, and using art to counter extremism.

The association was founded in the 1970s.
