AMMAN — Jordanian Personal Trainer Rebecca Odeh has set a new Guinness record for the longest online video chain of people passing around a water bottle, with the compilation including 464 people.
The idea behind the compilation of videos was to raise awareness about the importance of staying hydrated and exercising regularly, Odeh told The Jordan Times.
As a content creator with more than 87,500 followers on Instagram, Odeh said that during the entire lockdown period, she had received several complaints from her followers about their struggle to stay fit with the closure of gyms and fitness centres.
“The idea was sparked by the fitness industry going online with trainers forced to give online classes. This, in turn, resulted in the appearance of new people interested in fitness such as homemakers and people with long working hours — people who previously had found no time for fitness,” she noted.
Odeh said that at first, she would remind her followers to drink water, which then turned into a compilation of videos dedicated to that purpose.
The original compilation submitted to Guinness World Records included 58 video clips and was dismissed for “not following the organisation’s strict guidelines”, according to the Guinness representative who handed Odeh her award.
