AMMAN — Jordan and Mexico formed a friendship association with the aim of maximising bilateral cooperation in a number of areas. President of the Jordanian-Mexican Friendship Association Barakat Awajan at a ceremony held on Sunday in the presence of Mexican Ambassador to Jordan Roberto Hernandez, said that the association, which is still under establishment, aims to “build bridges” between investors from both countries and increase bilateral trade exchange.
Awajan said that Mexico is one of the world's major rising economies, while Jordan is an “excellent economic gateway to the region”, necessitating increased bilateral collaboration, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Hernandez noted that this initiative is a “significant step” in advancing bilateral ties.
Association member Hamdi Tabbaa praised the initiative to form the association, saying that it will strengthen commercial ties, especially that the annual trade volume between Jordan and Mexico is estimated at $200 million.
