AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation Nasser Shraideh said that in 2022, Jordanian exports grew by 36 per cent, 14 per cent of which are potash and phosphate exports.
Shraideh said that during the past year, the government was able to achieve an economic growth rate of 2.7 per cent and an unprecedented rise in national exports that exceeded 36 per cent, despite the challenges posed by the spread of the coronavirus, the Ukrainian-Russian crisis, and the rise in energy and commodity prices. Excluding potash and phosphates, export rates grew by 22 per cent. Similarly, the volume of foreign direct investment rose to reach 67 per cent, with investments worth JD600 million, he said, predicting that Jordan will achieve a growth rate of 3 per cent by 2025.
