Jordanian-Dutch social programme teaches football coaching

AMMAN — The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), in cooperation with the Dutch embassy in Amman, has launched a partnership project as part of the Royal Dutch Football Association's (KNVB) World Coaches social programme.

JOHUD said that the project, which is funded by the Dutch Foreign Ministry and implemented in six countries in the Middle East and North Africa, including Jordan, seeks to attract accredited international coaches totrain young footballers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The project aims to help young people harness their skills to find jobs and become engaged withlocal football clubs and federations and eventually becomeentrepreneursin the local, regional and internationalarenas.

JOHUD is implementing the project, which will run until 2024, in Irbid, Amman and Aqaba, where the first phase of the project was launched in the presence of Dutch Ambassador Harry Verweij and several famous Dutch footballers.
