Jordanian citizen killed in Venezuela earthquake – ministry

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry said on Saturday it was closely monitoring the conditions of Jordanian citizens in Venezuela following two earthquakes that recently struck the country.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Fouad Majali said in a statement that a Jordanian national residing in Venezuela died as a result of the earthquake, while his wife remains missing.

Majali noted that the ministry, through the Jordanian embassy in Brazil, is coordinating with Venezuelan authorities in the search operations and continues to provide necessary support to the victim's family.

The spokesperson confirmed that all other Jordanian residents in Venezuela are safe, urging citizens in the country to contact the ministry or the embassy in Brazil for around-the-clock assistance via the embassy's hotline at 005561996987070, the ministry’s operations center at 00962799562903, 00962799562471, and 00962799562193, or via email at [email protected].
