Jordan urges citizens to avoid areas of conflict in Iraq

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry is following up on the situation of Jordanians residing in Iraq, according to its spokesperson.

The ministry is contacting citizens through its operations centre, Jordan’s embassy in Iraq and the consulate in Erbil, spokesperson Sabah Al Rafei said Friday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

No incident involving a Jordanian in Iraq has been recorded so far, Rafei said.

She called on Jordanians in Iraq to contact the embassy in Baghdad at any time when in need of assistance, urging them not to venture into areas of conflict.

Citizens can contact the embassy in Baghdad on 009647804760609 or 009647806526001, while the consulate in Erbil can be reached on 009647508114442 and 00964771444777.
