AMMAN — Jordan and the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) highlighting and spreading the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
The MoU, signed by the National Commission for the Implementation of the IHL in Jordan and its Emirati counterpart, stipulates that the two sides should work jointly to develop mutual plans, programmes and actions, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The deal was signed on the sidelines of the IHL conference that started on Monday in Abu Dhabi.
It also stipulates that both sides shall contribute to developing humanitarian laws that protect victims of armed conflicts and move forward with procedures that aim at enhancing the application of these regulations internationally.
