AMMAN — Jordan is the country with the highest share of renewable energy contribution in the Arab region in 2021, excluding hydropower, according to the 2022 Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX).
During a panel session, at the Sharm El Sheikh-held COP27 Climate Summit, Head of the Renewable Energy Department Yacoub Murar on Saturday highlighted the Kingdom's achievements in the renewable energy field, energy efficiency and future plans, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The session coincided with the launch of the 2022 AFEX report, which tracks Arab countries' progress in energy efficiency.
