Jordan to take part in IATA's 78th Annual General Meeting in Doha

AMMAN — Representing Jordan, a delegation from Royal Jordanian will participate on Sunday in the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 78th Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, hosted by Doha, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The three-day meeting will feature nearly 240 international airlines to discuss issues and global trends related to the aviation sector.
Sustainability will be among the main topics that will be discussed by the participants, focusing on the steps that the entire aviation sector will take to achieve zero emissions by 2050.
IATA indicated that the meeting will also discuss supporting global efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Baker said that with the rise in oil prices and inflation, the upcoming meetings will provide an opportunity for airlines to assess foreseen economic challenges.
He added that the 2022 World Cup will be the first of its kind in the Middle East and the Arab world, which will serve as an ideal opportunity for the entire Arab region’s readiness to host major global events.
