AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday said that Jordan is being subjected to a fierce, organised campaign from various external platforms, supported by internal and external parties, whose goals have become known, in order to weaken the Kingdom, the stances of His Majesty King Abdullah, and his pivotal role towards various regional issues.
Fayez's remarks came during a Senate session on Sunday.
He added that the campaign aims to influence His Majesty’s consistent positions on Arab issues, and on the “suspicious deal of the century”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez highlighted His Majesty’s belief that there is no security and stability in the region except by solving the Palestinian issue, in accordance with international resolutions and the two-state solution that would enable Palestinians to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He called for confronting the “rabid” campaigns and fabricated news, and standing together in the face of haters, noting that this will only increase Jordan’s strength and immunity, and Jordan will remain a symbol for security and stability.
Despite Jordanians’ political orientations or their positions on various local issues in the Arab world, they must unite to confront such malicious attempts, and stand by His Majesty the King in his continuous efforts to serve the interest of Jordan and its stability, and provide a free and dignified life for its people, he said.
