AMMAN — Secretary General for Diplomatic and Expatriate Affairs at the Foreign Ministry Majid Qatarneh attended a virtual conference on Wednesday to review the outcomes of the Paris conference on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The conference, initiated by an invitation of the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, saw the participation of several donor nations, UN agencies and multiple international and regional organisations, according to a ministry statement.
Qatarneh, who attended on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, highlighted Jordan's diplomatic efforts to end the war on Gaza and ensure the protection of civilians.
Jordan is channeling humanitarian aid to Gaza through various agencies, including the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation and the Royal Medical Services, he said.
"His Majesty King Abdullah hosted the Aqaba Process for Gaza Relief Coordination Meeting on November 30, where the participants prioritised the provision of adequate humanitarian aid, the expansion of fuel supplies and the establishment of additional access points to Gaza", Qatarneh added.
"The international community must recognise and support the vital role of the Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA," he said.
