AMMAN — Jordan was reelected to chair the Arab Division of Experts on Geographical Names (ADEGN) at the 9th Conference of Arab Experts in Geographical Names.
Titled "Geospatial integration between name and location: importance and impact", the Muscat-hosted event, which concluded on Wednesday, was organised by the ADEGN Arab Division in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre (RJGC) and the National Survey Authority of Oman, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
An RJGC statement on Thursday read that the participants' recommendations included the adoption of a unified Arab system for Romanising geographic names, developing a database for documenting geographical names and creating specialised institutions and committees in the field of geographical names.
