Jordan to purchase additional 50mcm water from Israel

AMMAN — Jordanian-Israeli technical committees on Tuesday signed an agreement to purchase an additional 50 million cubic metres of water outside the framework of the peace agreement and what it stipulates in regard to water quantities.

Official sources at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation said that in the presence of the Jordanian and Israeli water ministers, technical committees from both sides held a meeting on Tuesday morning, in which the agreement was signed.
