AMMAN — Jordan has participated in the first ministerial meeting on “Women and Achieving Peace in the Arab World” in Cairo, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.
Social Development Minister Khawla Armouti headed the Jordanian delegation participating in the conference, organised by the Arab League’s Secretariat in cooperation with the Arab Women Organisation, the UN Development Programme and other civil society organisations concerned with women’s issues.
During the conference, Armouti delivered a speech in which she said that Jordan has intensified its efforts in seeking gender equality and enabling women to assume leading positions.
