AMMAN — Jordan on Sunday participated in Abu Dhabi’s international Human Fraternity Conference, held during a visit by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmad Al Tayeb.
Jomaa Abbadi, Jordan’s ambassador to the UAE; Father Nabil Haddad, executive director of the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Centre; and Diana Hadid, counsellor to the Jordanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, participated in the launch of the conference, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The conference was organised by the Muslim Council of Elders under the patronage of Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, to start a dialogue on ways of creating coexistence and fraternity.
The conference also serves to denounce religious extremism and lay new foundations for relations between people of various faiths, according to Petra
