Jordan participates in 19th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement, 3rd South Summit of Group of 77

AMMAN — Jordan is participating in the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement and the 3rd South Summit of the Group of 77, currently taking place in Kampala, Uganda, with a delegation led by Minister of State Wajih Azaizeh, including Jordan's  Ambassador to Kenya and Uganda Firas Khouri.

Azaizeh said that Jordan, along with 28 other countries in 1955, contributed to the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement to seek freedom, justice, and balance in international relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Azaizeh emphasised the need for an immediate ceasefire to end the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, condemning Israel's violations of international law.

The minister also highlighted the urgent need for continuous humanitarian aid to Gaza and denounced Israel's attempts to change the legal and historical status of Jerusalem. He also stressed Jordan's commitment to protecting the holy Islamic and Christian sites in Jerusalem.

Azaizeh also highlighted the rule of law at both national and international levels, calling for fair treatment of violations of international law without discrimination. The minister also stressed support for the International Court of Justice and its rulings, particularly regarding the Israeli war on Gaza.

He also underscored the importance of establishing a nuclear weapons-free zone in the Middle East to contribute to regional and international peace.
