The nomination file was prepared in cooperation with Umm Al Jimal Archaeological Project, Calvin University and Umm Al Jimal Municipality.
The file was referred to UNESCO on September 30, 2022, after which formal notes were received from the World Heritage Centre.
The file was amended to reach its final form on January 24, 2023, one week before the announced deadline. After the World Heritage Centre receives the file, it will examine the file and the submitted management plan, after which field visits will be conducted to the site during 2023, provided that the decision to approve the listing is made during the summer of 2024.
