Jordan, Iraq officials follow up on mutual agreements, pledges

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri and Iraqi officials on Tuesday discussed the latest updates in the implementation of measures the two sides agreed on last month to enhance Jordanian-Iraqi economic ties.

According to a ministry statement, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Hammouri and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Fuad Hussein, as well as accompanying ministers, discussed pledges to implement all the economic agreements.

They also discussed the measures necessary to set up an industrial estate on their common border as a qualitative leap in economic cooperation.

The Iraqi ministers stressed their keenness to enhance economic cooperation with the Kingdom in various fields, and to speed up procedures to implement the recently-signed agreements, especially those pertaining to trade, investment, energy and transport, among others.
