Jordan to increase electricity supply to Palestine this summer — NEPCO

AMMAN — The Ramah Electricity Station is expected to operate this summer to increase the volume of electric power exported to Palestine from 40 megawatts to 80 megawatts, according to an agreement signed by Jordan and Palestine, Director General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) Amjad Rawashdeh said on Tuesday.

Checking on work progress at the station, Rawashdeh said that NEPCO personnel are working hard to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Palestine to help Palestine cover its power needs, according to a NEPCO statement.

He noted that the project is in the second stage of electric connection between the countries. On January 15, 2020, NEPCO signed an agreement to increase the volume of energy exported to Palestine as part of a cooperation project that began in 2008 by providing Palestine with 26 megawatts from the Jordanian grid, which serves Jericho.
