AMMAN — The Ministry of Tourism and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) are supporting cultural and national events accompanying the participation of Jordan's national football team, Al Nashama, in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The events are organised on Sunday and Monday as part of the "Jordan House" in San Jose, California, in cooperation with the Jordanian Fans Association in the US and a number of partners and supporters, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
It aims to bring together members of the Jordanian community and Arab fans while showcasing Jordan's national identity and rich cultural heritage.
The programme features a range of artistic, cultural and entertainment activities, including traditional Jordanian dabkeh and folklore performances, musical evenings, fan competitions and public screenings of football matches in a “patriotic” atmosphere reflecting pride in Jordan.
Organisers said that the event provides an important platform to highlight the Kingdom’s tourism and cultural assets and promote Jordan as a global travel destination.
The initiative aligns with efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and JTB to leverage major international events to enhance the Kingdom’s global presence and showcase its distinctive tourism and cultural experience to international audiences.
Earlier in June, JTB launched the "Jordan: Impossible to Match" campaign as part of a global marketing strategy aimed at boosting the Kingdom's position as a tourism destination.
The campaign was launched in conjunction with the national football team's historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and aims to capitalise on the achievement by promoting Jordan's tourism sector and highlighting the country's attractions and visitor experiences.
The initiative includes digital content across social media platforms and partnerships with international influencers and content creators to promote Jordan's tourism attractions, particularly Petra.
