Jordan hails decision to renew Yemen truce

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Thursday lauded an announcement made by UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to renew the current truce in Yemen for two additional months.

The ministry reiterated the Kingdom's continued support for the efforts exerted by the UN to resolve the Yemeni crisis, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The Foreign Ministry expressed hope that renewing the UN-mediated truce would contribute to creating conditions for a political solution, ending the crisis in Yemen, restoring its security and stability, alleviating the suffering of its people and fulfilling their aspirations for peace.
